Fire TV is the most IPTV-friendly device you can buy in 2026. Fire OS is an Android fork, which means you can sideload any Android IPTV player via the Downloader app — the official Amazon-approved path that stays stable across firmware updates.

What you need

Step 1 — Enable apps from unknown sources

  1. From the Fire TV home screen, open Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options.
  2. If you don't see Developer options, go back one level to About, then click the Fire TV Stick name seven times. Developer options will unlock.
  3. Set Install unknown apps to ON for the Downloader app (you'll install it in the next step).

Step 2 — Install the Downloader app

  1. From the home screen, go to Find → Search.
  2. Type Downloader and select it from the results.
  3. Click Download (or Get). It's free and published by AFTVnews.

Step 3 — Install your IPTV player

Downloader accepts either a full URL or a short numeric code. Here are the codes and URLs for the four players we recommend:

Open Downloader, paste the URL (or enter the code) into the Home tab, press Go, then Install when the download finishes. Confirm the install prompt twice — Amazon shows two separate confirmations on Fire OS 8.

Step 4 — Add your IPTV service

Launch the player and choose how to log in. Xtream Codes is the better option if your provider supports it — it auto-loads EPG and VOD, and keeps working if your provider rotates the streaming URL.

Step 5 — Pin to the home row

Long-press the player icon on the home screen and choose Move → drag it to the top row. This puts it one click away from standby and keeps it from being buried under Amazon's promotional tiles.
