Samsung Smart TVs since 2016 run Tizen OS, which is a walled garden similar to tvOS — no APK sideload, App Store (Samsung App Store) only. The good news: two of the best IPTV players ship in the store, and a third pairs with a free MAC-activation service.
Method 1 — Smart IPTV (SIPTV)
Smart IPTV is the most battle-tested Tizen IPTV app. It's been in the Samsung App Store since 2016 and uses a MAC-address activation model: install the app, note your TV's MAC, upload your playlist to siptv.app, and the TV pulls it down automatically.
- On your Samsung TV: Home → Apps → search Smart IPTV and install.
- Launch the app. It will display your TV's MAC address (12 hex characters) and a device key.
- On a phone or computer, go to siptv.app/mylist, enter the MAC, and either paste your M3U URL or upload an .m3u file.
- After a 7-day free trial, the MAC activation costs €5.49 one-time (lifetime — no subscription).
- Reopen the app on your TV; the playlist loads automatically.
Method 2 — IBO Player Pro
Newer alternative with a cleaner UI and faster channel zapping. Same MAC-activation model as SIPTV; €15 lifetime via ibopro.app. Worth it if SIPTV feels dated on your 2024+ Samsung.
Method 3 — Screen mirror from a phone
Every Samsung TV since 2018 supports screen mirroring from Android (Smart View) and iPhone (AirPlay 2 on 2019+ models). Install IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate on the phone, start playback, then mirror. It's a crutch — latency adds 200–400ms and 4K downscales to 1080p — but it's free.
