Xtream Codes is both a server-side IPTV panel (the software most providers run to manage subscribers) and a client API (the login method your IPTV player uses). The latter is what this article is about.
The three fields
- Server URL — the full endpoint, e.g.
http://cdn.example.com:8080. Some providers usehttps; some use non-standard ports like 25461 or 8080. - Username — your subscription identifier, usually 6–12 characters.
- Password — paired with the username. Treat it like any other password: rotate on provider request, never share.
What Xtream Codes gives you that M3U does not
Adding Xtream Codes to your player
- TiviMate: Add playlist → Xtream Codes → fill name, server, username, password → Next.
- IPTV Smarters Pro: Add new user → Login with Xtream Codes API → same fields.
- iPlayTV (Apple TV): + → Xtream Codes → same fields.
- Perfect Player (Windows/desktop): Settings → Playlists → + → Xtream → same.
Converting Xtream Codes to M3U
Every Xtream Codes subscription also exposes an M3U endpoint. If you need a plain M3U URL (for a device that doesn't support the API — e.g. old MAG boxes, Enigma2 receivers), construct it like this:
http://SERVER:PORT/get.php?username=USER&password=PASS&type=m3u_plus&output=ts
For the matching EPG (XMLTV):
http://SERVER:PORT/xmltv.php?username=USER&password=PASS
