Editorial standards at IPTVDB

Our sourcing, fact-checking, and correction policies — the reason you can trust what you read here.

Sourcing

  • Every factual claim about a provider (channel count, price, feature) is sourced from the provider's own public signup page, or from our direct test.
  • Every statement about legality or enforcement is sourced from a government, court, or named legal organisation (EFF, ARCOM, AGCOM) — not from review sites.
  • Every statement about ISP or CDN behaviour is sourced from the ISP/CDN's published documentation, or from our own measurement.

Fact-checking

Before publication, every provider review is checked against three independent signals: (1) our test-rig telemetry, (2) community sentiment on Reddit and dedicated forums, (3) the provider's own public claims. Gaps between (1) and (3) are flagged in the review body.

Corrections

Corrections appear in the changelog on our home page with a timestamp and a summary. We never silently edit post-publication. If a provider challenges a factual claim, we publish the challenge + our response.

Bylines

Every review has a named byline with a LinkedIn or personal-site link. We do not publish "by the IPTVDB Team". If a reviewer's byline is removed, it means they have left; their reviews remain unless factually stale.

AI + automation

We use AI for draft structuring and fact-pattern search but never for final copy without human editing. No review on this site is AI-generated end-to-end. Every published word has been read and edited by a named editor.
